The late holistic depth psychologist Ira Progoff once said that if every book in the world were burned, human beings would simply rewrite them. In fact, if we needed to, we’d also rebuild all the cities and rediscover art, music, science, technology, philosophy, and religion. We’d even re-create ourselves and our lives. 

Why? Because our most essential attribute is creativity. Human beings are creators. That’s our nature.

We don’t create randomly. We create in response to inner potentials and the impress of the outer world. Deep awareness is vital to an unfolding of the interaction of the two, as creative artists and thinkers have always known.
